Demand is growing for contemporary veneered panel doors as the market wakes up to the impact of stylishly designed timber doors, according to timber products supplier Scotts of Thrapston.
Scotts, which supplies a range of timber doors, said it had seen a growth in orders for American white oak veneers, along with horizontal veneers and veneered styles that look like flush doors,
Customers are even specifying more complex door veneers, according to the firm, with 3mm veneers combined with a chamfer at the top and bottom to create “a stunning V-joint effect”.
“More and more people are waking up to the impact an impressive-looking door can have on a room and indeed throughout a property,” said Ian Hodgkin, general manager of Scotts’ joinery arm.
“We are certainly living in exciting times when it comes to timber door design and build.”
Marketing manager Julia Berrie added that doors with different veneers on either side to match different interiors were also on the up.
