The kiln is to have a 1,000m³ capacity and will allow Danube to “add value to the products we offer” and “speed up our process”, according to Rizwan Sajan, the company’s chairman.
“With this enormous capacity, moisture treatment for our timber products can be undertaken by our staff,” said Mr Sajan.
“This will enable us to supply the best goods, speed up our process and add value to the products we offer to customers.”
As well as the kiln, Danube is to construct a state-of-the-art Dutch barn, which will be used to store weather-sensitive timber products such as MDF and plywood and will feature three 10-tonne dock levellers, and an open yard for other wood-based goods and construction materials.
