Staff at the company, a leading pallet recycler, are busy clearing up damage caused by the blaze, which police believe was arson.
A company spokesperson told TTJ that pallet stacks 40-50 pallets high spread over a three-acre area were destroyed in the fire. A building used for storage was also damaged.
He estimated the cost of damage to be about £250,000 but said it was still business as normal. “We’ve had plenty of offers of help.”
“It was definitely malicious. We do not have anything here that can start a fire,” he added.
Naylor’s which recycles pallets and can heat treat to international phytosanitary standard ISPM 15, usually has about 100,000 pallets on its 11-acre site.
