Manufacturing companies in the north west of England with less than 250 employees can apply for a 70% subsidy to attend a one day masterclass at Manchester’s Manufacturing Institute on June 12.

Entitled Maximising Total Manufacturing Performance, the masterclass will be presented by companies who will show how they have used Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to drive down production costs and achieve excellence.

Dr Julie Madigan, chief executive of the Manufacturing Institute, said: ‘Many factories are suffering from excessive down-time due to unreliable equipment and their maintenance costs are escalating.

‘Our TPM practitioners will demonstrate that the ‘Get Jim to Fix It’ mentality wastes time and money. This is an excellent opportunity to share the ‘warts and all’ experiences of real people who’ve been through all the loops to successfully exploit TPM and make a difference to their bottom line.’
