Sir Paul‘s offer is the latest twist in a planning dispute with Rother District Council over the lakeside log cabin and a timber pavilion built on the star’s Peasmarsh estate in 2002.

His planning agent WCEC Architecture has told the council that a revised application for retention of the pavilion only would be submitted in time for consideration at a planning meeting on December 7.

A legal agreement will be drawn up to limit the use of the pavilion to recreational purposes only.

Sir Paul had earlier offered to demolish some existing buildings on his estate and introduce a new landscape and habitat management plan in a bid to keep the cabin, which has accommodation, and the pavilion.
