Finnforest says its Beamlock glulam modular building system is now being offered by both major merchants and independents across the UK.
Finnforest’s Phil Nash said Beamlock, launched at Interbuild two years ago, was giving merchants the opportunity to offer a modular building solution to customers.
Mr Nash said: “It’s gaining market penetration all the time and has shown substantial growth over the last year.”
Business has grown by around 40% in the past 12 months, and companies now offering the product includeTravis Perkins, Jewson, Alsford Timber, Robert Price Builders’ Merchants, Shropshire Building Supplies Ltd, Payne Timber, JT Atkinson and Monmouthshire Building Supplies Ltd.
The system, designed to be cost-effective and easy to use, is aimed at a number of applications, including extensions, garages, conservatories, home offices, balconies and decking solutions.
Mr Nash said Beamlock represented an opportunity for merchants to offer solutions for timber buildings generally.
It has been tested by the Building Research Establishment and is marketed as “stronger than oak”. It does not require any carpentry skills and can be used by anybody from an ordinary homeowner wanting to extend their house, right up to a national housebuilder on a development.
Finnforest is also offering a Beamlock softwood roofing system to complement the product.
