Metnor Ecosystems has completed its third timber frame shell as part of a £10m contract with Care UK.

The Newcastle-based company, part of Metnor Group plc, took five weeks to erect a closed panel timber frame structure for a new care home at Richmond.

Similar shells have already been put up at Islington and Hammersmith, with brick cladding and further fixings now taking place.

The Ecosystems kit is manufactured by Trivselhus of Sweden and incorporates triple glazed windows and doors, insulation, power conduits, vapour barriers and plasterboard.

The Islington 53-bed care home will feature a ground floor day centre and will be ready for occupation at the end of June. A rehabilitation unit with hydrotherapy pool is to be included at Hammersmith.
