Metsäliitto is fine-tuning its wood products division to invest more in promoting wood-based construction.
It says stricter energy efficiency requirements set out in Eurocodes would promote the competitiveness of wood in comparison to competing materials in residential and commercial construction and renovation.
Mesäliitto Wood Products Industry is being divided into three business lines: Building Products, Solid Wood and Timber and Upgrades.
Ari Tiukkanen has been appointed senior vice-president of Building Products, while Joni Lukkaroinen heads the Timber and Upgrades business line. Lasse Wikström is responsible for the plywood division.
The company said the changes would increase clarity in the division’s roles and responsibilities and help utilise synergies.
