The Barking-based company, which recently achieved Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC) chain of custody certification at all 15 of its trading depots, was invited to give a procurement presentation for the Eden Project’s development and maintenance programme.

Marketing executive Stephen Cope, who gave the presentation, said Eden staff wanted to understand exactly what chain of custody represented and at what point the chain was broken.

The Project also wanted to ensure that any sheet materials purchased are certified.

Purchasing director Richard Lazenby said: “More and more specifiers are asking for certified products to meet their own clients demands, especially for government, local authority and social housing projects.”

MLM Distribution, better known as Montage L Meyer and William T Eden, has held Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain of custody certification for five years and claims more than 40% of its products are now certified by FSC or PEFC.
