The company has bought the 500m3 cargo speculatively, but believes that demand for certified goods is now on the increase in a number of the market sectors within which it operates.
“We are delighted that the UK plywood market may now be moving to a position where reasonable volumes of Far Eastern FSC material can be underwritten with confidence,” said Richard Lazenby, MLMD purchasing director.
“This consignment sits well amongst MLMD’s existing range of certified Malaysian plywood, which already includes Malaysian Timber Certification Council certified products.”
