Customer numbers have increased by 10% at Montague L Meyer Ltd (MLM) since it moved to its new purpose-built regional distribution centre in Birmingham.

The 53,000ft2 Heathlands facility, located near junction five and six of the M6, reports the upturn in customer numbers since it opened a year ago. MLM said it was expecting a turnover of £20m this year from the new depot. New lines at the site include fire retardant panels, solid hardwood worktops, laminates and flexible panels as well as the stocking of Ditto and melamine-faced chipboard.

The site allows an average 24-hour delivery time to Gloucester, Oxford, Lincoln and Northants.

Last month MLM completed the sale of its softwood distribution and processing arm to Finnforest UK Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
