Suzanne Martin has joined the Forestry Commission‘s Forest Research agency as its research liaison officer (RLO) for England. She succeeds Dr Hugh Williams, who is now Forest Research operations manager.
Ms Martin joins Steve Penny and Chris Jones, RLOs for Scotland and Wales respectively, to provide a dedicated link between Forest Research, the Forestry Commission and people and organisations in the public and private sectors involved in forestry and land use throughout Great Britain.
RLOs work to engage the organisation with its user communities to raise awareness of Forest Research services and research findings, and to improve the effectiveness of research processes and outputs. They also provide a first point of contact for anyone seeking expert advice or information on forest or woodland-related work at Forest Research.
Ms Martin previously worked as a development officer for Forestry Commission Scotland‘s Central Scotland Conservancy, and before that for Forest Research as a social science project leader.
