A lightweight panel product has been developed by Norbord to open up new markets for MDF.
The Cowie-based company, previously Nexfor, said its Caberlite MDF product would create opportunities in the caravan and portable building manufacturing sector where the weight of construction materials is a crucial issue.
Norbord claims the 595kg/m3 density board is 19% lighter than standard MDF and allows for strict adherence to Health & Safety Executive requirements.
