North Shields-based Tom Swan Builders’ Merchants is the latest acquisition by North Yorkshire Timber (NYT).
The company will retain its name, thereby preserving the company’s tradition of more than 60 years in the building industry.
“Larger stockholdings by NYT will enable us to deliver a greater range of builders’ merchants products as well as introducing a larger choice of timber materials to existing and new customers,” said David Swan.
Mr Swan said the acquisition was “very good” for all aspects of the business and brought stability to the 12 staff.
