Steico UK has enlisted Woodbridge Timber, the Suffolk-based timber supplier, to provide national coverage to independent merchants and buying groups as mixed part or full load.

Steico’s tradejoist uses a simplified single specification TJ60/220mm deep format in 3.6m, 4.8m and 6m cuts. It was designed to be a simpler engineered timber floor for house building, self build or renovation projects available off-the-shelf rather than a product for larger developers.

"Over recent months we have seen tremendous interest in our concept of a merchant-stocked I-joist. The partnership means for the first time we can offer national coverage to independent merchants and buying groups in smaller quantities," said Steico UK managing director Andy Moore.

"This new partnership gives us a great opportunity to mainstream the product and truly opens up a major new market for an engineered floor and roof solution."

Woodbridge Timber, one of the UK’s largest timber importers, has a sophisticated onward distribution service throughout the UK. "We are very excited about our new supply partnership with Steico and believe that adding Steico tradejoists to our core range will strengthen our position in the market," said sales director Brian McVeigh.

"Woodbridge Timber has the ability to supply a pick-a-pack service on a just-in-time basis throughout the UK and tradejoists will be available for supply as a mixed part or full load."
