The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) used sustainable materials, including Nexfor‘s Sterling OSB 3, in the construction of the Osprey Visitor Centre at Loch Garten, Speyside.
Mary Murray of Bell Ingram Design, architectural consultant on the project, said an RSPB officer had pointed out that Sterling OSB 3 was a local product manufactured from the pine thinnings in the area.
Nexfor was approached and subsequently donated 43m3 of its board to the centre.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors have passed through and the Sterling OSB 3 has been maintenance free.
