Pöyry, which provides engineering and project implementation services for forest schemes, maintenance engineering and local services for sawmills and consultation on forest industry strategies, is to take hold of 70% of Giprobum and has the option of acquiring the remaining 30% in 24 months time.
Giprobum is a leading engineering organisation in Russia, providing many of the forestry projects undertaken in the country and acting as the leading forest industry design institute for the Russian government prior to its privatisation in 1990.
