A playschool building based on a simple ‘A’ frame structure has been constructed in Norfolk with Masonite beams and Fillcrete’s EVT Breathing Technology.
The Owl Playschool at Holt, the frame of which is supported by a glulam ring beam on discrete concrete blocks, is designed so it can be dismantled and moved elsewhere.
The roof of the building runs down to floor level, and Masonite beams were used for both the floor joists and the roof rafters. As Masonite beams do not require additional strengthening, such as cross ties and struts, the result is a completely clear internal space.
The building is finished with timber cladding.
