The country has 15 million m3 of timber available in forests for commerical use and exports one million m3 a year.

But Patrick Pruaitch, Papua New Guinea’s forest minister, has said that the country could be exporting three times that amount and, as such, the industry has huge potential for growth.

This has led Mr Pruaitch to sign an agreement with ICSB in order to take advantage of the firm’s knowledge and expertise related to forest management.
