Timber frame home manufacturer Potton Ltd is launching a range of bungalow designs after conducting research into the preferences of future home buyers.

Potton, of Wyboston, plans to unveil its six new “Infiniti” designs at the Housebuilding 2004 exhibition in London on September 7-8.

The company based its designs on desk research taken from independent surveys carried out over the last eight years, which suggest future home buyers prefer bungalows over all other house types.

Joe Martoccia, Potton sales and marketing director

Joe Martoccia, Potton sales and marketing director, said he believes the designs will challenge people’s preconceptions about bungalows, especially sceptics who see them as “boring expressionless boxes”.

He said: “The term bungalow confuses many but through our own research we have found that once people see that bungalows can have additional accommodation in the roof area, they tend to opt for the bungalow design over a traditional two storey home.”
