New Zealand forestry giant Fletcher Forests recorded a NZ$302m loss for the six months ending December 31, 2001.
The company’s performance was severely affected by the write-off of a NZ$349m loan to the Central North Island Forest Partnership.
Fletcher sold more logs and lumber during the period at slightly better prices. Without the write-off, results would have shown a NZ$21m net profit.
