Scholarships to train apprentices who want to develop their practical knowledge of traditional building materials and techniques are being offered by the Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment.
Applicants must be involved in building crafts including carpentry and joinery, and a scholarship can be used to fund work experience in the UK or abroad. It can also be used to help applicants focus on a particular piece of work or practical project or to attend short courses.
The awards focus on the skills associated with the basic fabric of a building and do not encompass, for instance, furniture design.
