New construction orders in the private housing sector fell by 3% in the 12 months to November 2007 compared to the previous year, according to the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform.
In the three months to November 2007 private housing orders rose by 11% compared to the previous three, although year-on-year they were down by 10%.
However, public housing and housing assocation orders rose by 3% in the year to November 2007 compared to the previous 12 months, with the three months to November seeing a 6% rise compared to the period June to August.
Overall, construction orders in the 12 months to November 2007 rose by 1% and orders in the three months to November 2007 rose by 5% compared to the previous year’s figures.
