US building materials supplier ProBuild Holdings has completed the acquisition of HD Supply Lumber and Building Materials.

The sale includes Atlanta-based HD Supply’s 39 lumber yards, seven truss rafter production plants, 10 engineered timber manufacturing facilities and construction services division.

The purchase of HD Supply also includes a number of businesses trading under different names, including Williams Bros Lumber, Cox Lumber and Forest Products Building Materials.

ProBuild said that the acquisition was part of a “strategy of aggressive growth ” that will see the company expand into growing markets.

“ProBuild is pursuing a strategy of aggressive growth, both organic and via acquisitions,” said chief executive officer Paul Hylbert.

“The addition of HD Supply’s yards and truss plants strengthen our position in very important long-term, high-growth housing markets in the south-east.”

Other recent acquisitions by ProBuild include Florida-based companies Granger Lumber and Rosen Building Supplies.

HD Supply’s wood-based product range includes I-joists, trusses, interior and exterior doors and windows.
