The UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA) has moved to counter a statement issued by a PVCu door and window maker that claimed it had become the organisation’s sole supplier of plastic doors and windows.
Sash UK had issued a press release saying it had been delighted with the “recognition” at receiving sole supplier status for UKTFA members, who comprise 85% of timber frame manufacturers in the UK.
The UKTFA said Sash had achieved the organisation’s Q-Mark but had misinterpreted this as becoming a sole supplier.
The UKTFA, which said it does not grant any sole supplier agreements, has pointed out the error to the company.
In its press release, Sash said it had been supplying the timber frame industry for many years.
To achieve the Q-Mark the company had to demonstrate that it had achieved ISO 9001 quality management accreditation and the ISO 14001 environment management standard.
