Reid, who retired four years ago, pleaded guilty in court in Auckland to 17 counts of labelling below-standard timber as high-strength MGP10. Sentencing will be in April and each charge carries a NZ$60,000 fine.
The company was fined NZ$900,000 last year.
The Commerce Commission estimated about 20,000 homes were built with Laserframe MGP10 during a 28-month period to November 2003. After the Timber Industry Federation raised concerns, the Commission stepped in, but CHH continued to sell the timber, the Commission said.
