A review of the Forestry Commission Wales (FCW) Woodland Grant Scheme is under way following publication of the strategy “Woodlands for Wales”.
The first stage of the review which looked at existing woodlands was completed this year. It recommended changes now absorbed into the new woodland grant scheme “Better Woodlands for Wales”.
The second stage, looking at woodland expansion, is now under way and the Welsh Woodland Expansion Review group is looking for feedback from stakeholders to help formulate the grant regime to maximise woodland creation opportunities.
