The first shipment of cargo for Rowlinson Timber arrived at Associated British Ports‘ (ABP) Port of Newport recently.

The vessel mv Pyotr Anokhin discharged almost 4,000m3 of timber at the port’s south dock.

Rowlinson Timber has been importing timber from Russia, the Baltic states and Scandinavia to ABP’s Port of Grimsby & Immingham since the late 1990s.

Rowlinson Timber managing director John Bate said: “This new initiative in south Wales will allow us to extend our customer base further and to continue serving existing customers in this area efficiently.”
