Two 110ft-long Douglas fir logs have been transported to the Royal Welsh Show Ground at Builth Wells, where they will be used as competition climbing poles.

The logs, felled on Forestry Commission land in North Wales and weighing eight to nine tonnes each, needed a police escort for the journey to the showground. They have been peeled and will be set in the ground ready for the Royal Welsh Show which takes place from July 22-25.
