Property developer and TV personality Sarah Beeny is the host and guest speaker for this year’s TTJ Awards.
Ms Beeny set up her own property development and investment companies at the age of just 24.
Based on the success of her business, she was approached by Channel 4 to present the prime time show Property Ladder, following the fortunes of people buying, developing and selling on houses.
This led to a whole series of different property and building programmes, including Pay off Your Mortgage, Streets Ahead and Britain’s Best Homes.
Most recently, Ms Beeny has turned her attention to building refurbishment and repair with two new programmes, Help My House is Falling Down and Restoration Nightmare.
She runs a website, www.tepilo.com, to enable people to buy, sell and let properties themselves and also writes for a range of publications on the property and construction markets, from The Sunday Times and Homebuyer to New Woman and At Home.
She is currently filming a new, as yet undisclosed, TV series for BBC1.
“Sarah Beeny is not only a well-known TV presenter, she’s also a highly successful businessperson, developer and expert on the property market,” said TTJ editor Mike Jeffree. “I’m sure she’ll be an interesting, entertaining and perhaps a challenging host for the TTJ Awards, with, no doubt, some views to share on the construction products supply chain, of which the timber industry forms such a fundamental part.
“And having Sarah as host in the same year we move to our new venue, the impressive Grand Connaught Rooms right in the heart of the West End of London, should make this a truly memorable TTJ Awards.”
The TTJ Awards ceremony take place on Thursday September 15. The Awards themselves will be open for entry soon.
