The first project for Villa Vida will be a 52-unit apartment scheme in Rainham, north-east London, worth about £1.47m. The rental homes’ annual energy operating costs will be up to 80% lower compared with masonry construction.
The first timber frame panels will be delivered in September.
Under the agreement Villa Vida will exclusively produce Winchester-based Climate Energy Homes’ certified EcoTech build system.
Vida bought the majority shareholding of the Växjö-based timber frame home manufacturer in 2011 as a step to develop and adapt the sawmiller’s timber products to the factory-produced timber frame homes market.
