Shoreham Port is once again receiving shipments from SCA Timber Supply Ltd after a gap of more than a year.
SCA originally stopped shipments to the West Sussex port at the end of 2002 for logistical reasons but a new contract has now been signed.
The first cargo arrived from northern Sweden at the end of April, with three more shipments expected this year.
Port executives say they were always confident SCA’s business would be resumed.
“SCA was very happy with our facilities and service when it operated a monthly service to Shoreham in 2002. We maintained contact and everyone is delighted it is using the port again ” |
