“Productivity has improved by 13% since 2011 and kilning capacity has become a bottleneck,” said mill manager Gustav Eriksson.
“We will also be able to improve the quality of our planed products, which is important for our competitiveness.”
SCA said the production growth also meant its procurement of spruce sawlogs from private forest owners in the region would increase.
The sawmill has a capacity of 250,000m3, which will rise to 300,000m3 following the progressive kiln investment. Planed product capacity is 90,000m3.
