As a result of a six figure deal with MAN ERF UK, pallet manufacturer Scott Timber Group has acquired a fleet of 15 tractor units which will operate nationwide.
Claimed to be one of the largest orders of its type in the UK this year, the investment will see all the units branded with the Scott Timber signage. The fleet will primarily operate between six sites in England at Wigan, Widnes, Stoke-on-Trent, Burton upon Trent, Isle of Sheppey and Northfleet and two sites in Wales at Barry and Flint.
The fleet will be overseen by Robin Gray, owner of haulage firm H&R Gray, and Grays will continue to manage all of the group’s haulage requirements in Scotland.
Scott Timber managing director John Scott said the MAN ERF deal is part of an on-going investment aimed at building customer confidence and allowing greater planning and responsiveness.
“Over the last year we have created a network across England and Wales that enables us to offer customers fast, efficient delivery regardless of their location. Our goal now is to keep investing in that network to give even greater value to our customers and ensure they have the best service in the country.”
