The Scottish Forest Industries Cluster is helping to fund a building to showcase Scottish timber in a new botanical garden in Pitlochry.

The Scottish Plant Collectors’ Garden will place a heavy stress on the range of tree species in the country and the importance of the timber sector to the economy.

The pavilion will be made entirely of Scottish timber and house an exhibition ‘illustrating the links between Scottish plant collectors, Scotland’s woodlands and the modern timber industry’. It will also contain a classroom for visiting schools and other groups.

The Scottish Forest Industries Cluster is backed by Scottish Enterprise and the Forest Industry Development Council and aims to encourage collaboration across the forestry and timber sectors.
