New timber facilities at Shoreham Port have been completed and are already in use.
Two new terminal areas and two warehouses have been added to the port in a £4m investment.
The terminal areas are initially aimed at imported steel and forest products, while the warehouses are currently storing imported timber.
“The new facilities, which extend our warehousing capacity by one-sixth from 36,000m2 to 42,000m2, provide open and covered storage space to meet the ongoing and future demands of our expanding client base,” said Rod Johnstone, Shoreham Port CEO.
The port says it is the largest timber handling port on the south coast, with 440,000m3 handled each year.
