Soil Association Woodmark has issued its first FSC certificate in Slovakia.
The certificate was issued to the Pre’ov State Forest District – at 48,159ha the largest forest district – in eastern Slovakia. Three chain of custody certificates were also issued to timber processors within the district.
Dr Roman Reh, president of the Timber Processors Federation, Slovakia said: ‘The key to unlocking the benefits from FSC certification will come through the export of value-added timber products into western European markets.’
