The UK’s social housing sector will see its first Super E timber frame home constructed next year, following an agreement between Canadian and British development partners.

Kent-based Kelsey Housing Association and construction company Osborne will work with Canadian housing exporter Alouette Homes on the pilot scheme at Bognor Regis, Sussex. The Super E home will be one of nine affordable properties being built.

Another Kent builder, Eco Concept, has agreed to work on a further Super E project with Canadian construction firm Interhabs Ltd. A terrace of 12 homes planned for 2004 in St Johns Wood, London, follows their development of three properties in Maida Vale – the first Super E houses in the capital.
