Use of recycled wood fibre at Sonae’s Knowsley plant was featured in a Channel 5 programme last week.
The programme focused on haulier Eddie Stobart’s involvement in recycling and showed its trucks delivering wood fibre to the Knowsley chipboard plant.
Sonae’s truck unloading system was filmed, involving a lift which can elevate two articulated lorries complete with cabs, 70 degrees on their end allowing the material to be released from their back doors.
The programme also showed the factory and production process, illustrating how Sonae uses 95% recycled wood to make panels and makes 1.5 miles of chipboard an hour.
