Specialist veneer panel company Spa Laminates produced 170 panels for the restoration of a former artistic salon in South Kensington, London.
Formerly owned by the founder of a visual art publishing house, Bela Horowitz, the mansion was bought by property developer Beaufort House in 2001.
For the next two years a team of historical consultants, architects, designers and craftsmen worked on every aspect of the house – from a new roof to oak parquet flooring and original plasterwork restoration.
Spa Laminates provided American black walnut veneered panels for the media room/bar area and wardrobes in a fourth floor bedroom; wenge veneered panels in the dressing room area of the master suite; and American white oak and zebrano veneered wardrobe doors in other bedrooms.
Marketing director Daryn Forster said: “It was great to work with a design team that appreciated the impact veneer can have as a design statement when used en masse, as within the bedrooms.”
