A 20-year guarantee on Bruynzeel Multipanel high performance plywoods is encouraging specifiers to use them for more and more external cladding projects according to panel products distributor, Timbmet Silverman.

The company said Bruynzeel Multipanel plywoods have already proved their longevity in the demanding marine trade and are now being specified for innovative buildings incorporating fully exposed timber panelling.

Suitable for external cladding are the Bruynzeel Garant range available in A/B gaboon or mahogany offering a 10 year guarantee, or the A/A Bruynzeel Hechthout gaboon or Suprahect mahogany ranges offering a 20-year guarantee.

The panels can be bought as fully finished components with Sikkens coating under the Wooding brand name which saves installation time on site. The plywoods retain their 10- or 20- year guarantees with the Sikkens coating carrying a three year warranty.

Charles Simpson, Timbmet Silverman Group product development manager, said: “Many specifiers have previously steered away from incorporating plywood as an external cladding due to the breakdown of inferior products, but now with the 20-year guarantee we can offer on plywoods from this range, it is unsurprising that specifiers are now turning to this product area for more and more external cladding projects.”

Recent contracts supplied include the lock control building at Portishead and residential apartments at Castle Boulevard, Newcastle.
