The C$260m mill, which produces TimberStrand, will take extended downtime during the first quarter because of falling demand. Some 41 employees will be permanently laid off.
The mill, opened in 2003, has more than 230 workers and uses about 600,000m3 of timber a year.
Weyerhaeuser has implemented a series of cost-cutting measures in recent months, including a temporary shutdown of its OSB mills in Miramichi, New Brunswick, and Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan.
The company has also indefinitely shut down a plywood mill in Hudson Bay and a sawmill in Carrot River.
