Stairways Group has moved quickly to acquire the client data base of rival staircase manufacturer Belfield Joinery from administrators in a move which doubles its customer base.
Stairways managing director Karen Wood said the exciting acquisition could bring the group’s production output to near capacity. It has led Stairways to re-employ four of its workers who were made redundant recently.
Stairways’ acquisition includes the rights to trade with Belfield’s forward orders, while the latter’s website and telephone calls have been re-directed to Stairways.
Ms Wood said the group was lucky to secure the purchase and revealed that two other joinery companies had also been interested in Belfield’s customer data.
Stairways operates sites in Walsall, Leamington Spa and Welshpool.
