The total volume of lumber exported to Britain from British Columbia, Québec and Maritimes during January and February was 64,221m3, compared to 16,343m3 for the same months in 2006.
The biggest provincial exporter was Québec with 33,254m3, followed by British Columbia (21,322m3) and Maritimes (9,230m3).
Some of the UK’s biggest timber distributors have taken delivery of large Canadian shipments this year, including Rowlinson Timber and Premier.
