Steico Ltd has scored a major coup in the I-joist supplier market by securing Travis Perkins as a nationwide distributor for its products.
The move will lead to Steico increasing its share of the UK I-joist market to about 15% in 2009.
Travis Perkins, which previously sold iLevel’s TJI-joists, said it chose Steico after examining all the players in the UK engineered wood products market.
“The quality and performance of the company’s products and especially its focus on natural materials, the insulation sector and its environmental ethos are precisely what we seek in adding to our extensive range” said Peter Crook, Travis Perkins’ timber and joinery director.
Andy Moore, Steico managing director, said Travis Perkins was “central to our plans for expansion in the UK”.
“A relationship with Travis Perkins is a much sought-after credential with the major players in the housebuilding market,” he said.
