Stella-Jones Inc has strengthend its grip on the Canadian pressure-treated industrial wood products market by completing the C$16.7m acquisition of most of Cambium Group Inc’s assets.

It takes ownership of Cambium’s Québec pressure-treated wood products production plants at Masson-Angers and Sorel-Tracy, plus a pole-peeling plant in Senneterre.

Stella-Jones president and chief executive officer Brian McManus said: “Cambium is a great fit for our company. Our similiar markets and products provide for many synergies and will allow us to reduce the collective overhead costs of the combined companies.”
