Scottish forestry minister Rhona Brankin has announced a £400,000 grant to support the continued sustainable management of Sunart’s Atlantic oakwoods on the Ardnamurchan peninsula.

The money, granted by Forestry Commission Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage, will help improve biodiversity in the forest.

Sustainable management work of Sunart’s oakwoods has been going on for many years in the form of the Sunart Oakwoods Initiative, a partnership which acted as a catalyst to using the potential of the forest for community benefit.
