Sustainability is to be a key theme at the Builders Merchants Federation’s (BMF’s) second annual members’ day on October 10.
Alan Cherry, chairman of Countryside Properties, is to give the keynote speech on the topic “Sustainability and its influence on home building and building materials”, with the BMF also set to launch its new Environmental Code, designed to help builders meet specification requirements and satisfy the green agenda.
Other topics to be covered at the event, taking place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, include e-trading, Building Regulations, security and preventing fraud and the key priorities for regulatory bodies including the Health & Safety Executive and Trading Standards.
The day’s festivities will also include a golf competition at the nearby Forest of Arden Golf Club, with a pre-event dinner taking place at the National Motorcycle Museum on October 9.
