Established in 1999, the association this year expanded to help develop demand for external timber cladding. Mr Traynor will focus on the strategic development of the cladding campaign which the TDCA plans to launch in next spring.

Mr Traynor has devoted his entire career to promoting timber. Starting as a trainee with Southerns Evans he had spells in sales with Horsley Smith and RA Naylor before becoming sales and marketing director of Stora Timber UK and then managing director of Graningerverken’s UK softwood operations. In recent years he became known for his work in the wood for good promotional campaign where he was responsible for distribution chain projects and the award-winning online training academy.

“Tony has a long track record of success in the timber industry. When Tony was with Wood For Good we collaborated on a number of projects and developed considerable respect for his ability to make things happen,” said TDCA director Steve Young.
