The Carpenters Awards have been renamed The Wood Awards which the sponsors say better reflects the nature of the competition.
Due to take place at The Carpenter’s Hall in the City of London on October 15, 2003, the aim of the awards is to recognise and encourage outstanding design, craftsmanship and installation in joinery and structures in timber.
Architects, designers, joinery companies, building owners and developers can enter and the organiser, Turnstone Communications, plans to launch a website at www.woodawards.com giving entry and award details and an online application form.
The main sponsors are The Carpenters’ Company, wood. for good, the American Hardwood Export Council and The Timber Trade Federation, with the British Woodworking Federation key sponsor.
